If you have read Homekit a week for any love for time, you know I am love Organs. Intelligent home accessories are only useful if they can do something automatically. Therefore, I have always recommended building around one ecosystem for their intelligent home VS mixing and comparing. It’s Homekit for me. I’m leaning on EVE devices because privacy is always preferred and a cloud account request has been skipped if you are simply holding homekit. Eva also leaned into support for mass.

The weather will provide you with three data points from one small device: temperature, humidity and air press. It is IPX4 water resistant and the aluminum body looks like it belongs right in front of my house. That’s exactly mine. It gives me a hyperlocal reading that is often a few degrees of what Weather App reports, and frankly, it depends on what is super hot or very cold. When your pipes freeze at 31 degrees and your app tells 34, you will want you to have local data.

One of the sub -features of the eve of the weather is its built -in 12 -hour weather trend. It uses air pressure changes to predict what the weather will do. You will get a visual icon that shows whether it will probably be sunny, overcast, rainy or stormy. This little detail adds a lot of value and it’s something you can see at first glance without opening the application.

Here are a few automation that you could create using the eve of the weather:

• Turn on the colored light when the temperature immerses under the freezing
• Start Dehumidifify when the outdoor moisture is particularly high
• Delay of the sprinkler system if it is already raining and the prognosis suggests that more rain is coming
• Ask Siri what is the current front yard temperature without going out

Support of affairs and fibers in 2025

Last summer, Eva released a free firmware update that provides support for Eva Weather. If you already own the device, you can upgrade it using EVE. Support Busht for Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant/Home and SmartThings along with Homekit. It is the same sensor, now the Agnostic platform, which makes the future resistant to if you have all the platforms for change.

The weather Eve is what is called in the minimum dependent device (MTD). This means that it communicates above the fiber but does not transmit traffic. For all, this task is on full fiber (FTD) devices such as Eve Energy or Eve Water Guard. The more FTD you have, the stronger and more stable your fiber network becomes – and the device benefits.

And you still need an event. Everything remains local unless you choose otherwise. EVE Pro iPhone is still a great tool for visualizing and monitoring historical temperature, pressure and humidity trends. It is a really great way to find out patterns and decide on things like watering lawn or management of energy.

I use some HomePod mini via the house and rely on my Eero 6. The fiber support network. EERO includes fiber support outside the box, so it works as a solid foundation for accessories such as Eve Weather to stay with low latency and without additional knots.

Packing

The only thing I would still like to see is a rechargeable battery. The coin battery takes several months, but I would prefer a USB-C port like what Eve room uses. This means that the eve of the weather is one of my favorite accessories. It’s simple, it looks great and thanks to Matter it works on all major platforms. If you try to add local weather to your intelligent house and start useful automation, Eve Weather is an easy recommendation.
