How to get the best MacBook deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice

Foundry
Apple has updated almost all of its MacBook models in 2025, and we expect to see historically low prices for many models and configurations:
M4 MacBook Air: Apple updated the MacBook Air with the M4 chip in March with a surprising $100 price cut. That means the base model starts under $1,000 and routinely sells for $800 or less. Amazon has already dropped the price to $750, and we expect it could go even lower come Black Friday.
M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pro: Apple’s flagship laptops haven’t been updated since late 2024, but they’re still excellent machines. We wouldn’t hesitate to buy one for $300 or more off, even with the rumored M5 update coming.
M5 MacBook Pro: Apple released the M5 MacBook Pro in October, so we don’t expect to see big discounts just yet. However, it is possible to see a $100 price reduction during Black Friday.

How to get the best Mac deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice

Šimon Jary / Foundry
Apple hasn’t updated any of its consumer-level Mac desktops in 2025, so prices for the M4 models should reach historic lows:
M4/M4 Pro Mac mini: Apple updated the Mac mini late last year with an M4 chip and a new design. The M4 Mac mini is a fantastic device with extremely small dimensions, so don’t hesitate to get it at a discount.
M4 iMac: The iMac has a 24-inch 4.5K display and a fast M4 processor starting at $1,299. Before you decide to buy, look at sales between $1,100 and $1,150.
Is Apple Mac Discounting on Black Friday?
Apple doesn’t cut prices on Black Friday. Rather, it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. For the 2024 Apple Black Friday shopping event, it was giving away gift cards with MacBook Air purchases made on Apple’s US website or Apple’s UK website. Because they were so new, the M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models were not included for 2024.
We don’t yet know Apple’s deal for 2025, but we expect all models except the M5 MacBook Pro, which was only released in October, to be included.

Buying from Apple means you’re sure you’re buying the latest Mac, while other retailers may be clearing out old stock. You then have a voucher to spend on other Apple products – and with many of us throwing money away every month thanks to subscriptions, this can be a real saving where it counts.
However, there are plenty of good deals out there as described above. Just make sure you buy the latest model or get a reasonable discount if not.
- We tend to find the biggest savings are on older models, but be aware that these models aren’t always the best value for money.
- Check the generation of the model that is discounted to make sure you know exactly what you are buying and how much it really costs.
- We’ve seen sellers switch to selling refurbished or used when they run out of stock of brand new models, so check to see if a discounted model isn’t actually a used Mac and therefore not as good as it sounds.
- This doesn’t mean you should avoid refurbished models – you just need to make sure you don’t buy refurbished ones without knowing it.
- Mac deals aren’t limited to Black Friday. We see good deals all year round, so don’t be pressured into shopping during Black Friday.
