These are the best new MacBook deals in November: from $599

In Apple’s Silicon era, MacBooks have become more affordable than ever — with brand-new models starting as low as $599. With global tariffs looming, these great deals could end soon – so if you’re in the market for a new MacBook for whatever reason, now might be one of the best times to buy.

Apple’s latest macOS Tahoe update also dropped support for virtually all Intel Macs (with a few exceptions). If you want to stay with the latest and greatest Apple software, now is a good time to upgrade.

MacBook Air M1

Since entering the Apple Silicon era, Apple has launched 4 MacBook Airs with M1, M2, M3 and M4 chips. The M1 MacBook Air still uses the more familiar wedge design from the Intel era, though many users might prefer that.

Performance of the M1 MacBook Air

The M1 MacBook Air, despite being four years old, remains an excellent laptop for its price. It boasts lightning-fast performance thanks to the M1 chip, a stunning retina display (albeit with thicker bezels compared to the newer MacBook Airs), a great keyboard, up to 18 hours of battery life, and doesn’t sound like a plane about to take off when you open it in public.

Since the M1 MacBook Air is the oldest on this list, it’s also the cheapest. One caveat with the M1 MacBook Air is that it’s harder to find new ones with more than 256GB of storage, so if you need a lot of storage, you’ll need to buy a newer Air. On the other hand, it remains the only Apple Silicon MacBook in the correct gold color.

You can get the M1 MacBook Air at Walmart starting at $599 in all 3 colors: silver, space gray, and gold.

MacBook Air M3

In 2022, Apple introduced a redesigned MacBook Air with a thinner design, a larger display with thinner bezels, and reintroduced MagSafe. It also came in new Starlight and Midnight colors in addition to Silver and Space Gray, although Gold was no more. This fresh new design was introduced with the M2 chip and has lived on ever since.

15-inch MacBook Air M2

The M2 MacBooks are mostly sold out, and unfortunately the M3 models are also sold out – although there are still a few available, especially the 15-inch MacBook Air.

15-inch models with the M3 chip:

  • 15-inch MacBook Air with 512GB storage, 24GB memory: $1,199 at Amazon ($500 off!)

This MacBook is an excellent deal if you would like more unified memory than most people, which can be very valuable for multitasking.

MacBook Air M4

In March, Apple announced an updated MacBook Air with an M4 chip. This computer is mostly similar to the previous model, except that it now features a new Center Stage webcam and a new Sky Blue color that replaces Space Gray.

Right now, you can save at least $100 on the latest MacBook Air models. Apple is reportedly working on a new entry-level MacBook with an A18 Pro chip sometime next year — but at those prices, I’d honestly just get a MacBook Air and not have to deal with any compromises.

13-inch models with M4 chip:

  • 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB storage, 16GB memory: $899 at Amazon
  • 13-inch MacBook Air with 512GB storage, 16GB memory: $1,065 at Amazon
  • 13-inch MacBook Air with 512GB storage, 24GB memory: $1,199 at Amazon

15-inch models with the M4 chip:

  • 15-inch MacBook Air with 256GB storage, 16GB memory: $999 at Amazon
  • 15-inch MacBook Air with 512GB storage, 16GB memory: $1,199 at Amazon
  • 15-inch MacBook Air with 512GB storage, 24GB memory: $1,429 at Amazon

Despite being the latest and greatest, there are some incredible deals on the M4 MacBook Air, mostly thanks to its already lower starting price.

M4 MacBook Pro

Apple redesigned the MacBook Pro in 2021 with a brand new miniLED display with ProMotion, more ports (notably an HDMI port and an SD card reader), as well as a bigger battery and better cooling. It also got a 1080p webcam for the first time.

Although the MacBook Pro isn’t as affordable as the MacBook Airs, if you want that amazing display and extra ports, there are still some good deals out there. All the models below are M4 and M4 Pro chip models that provide the latest and greatest performance and features.

The entry-level M4 models are likely to shrink in size in the coming months due to the launch of the new M5 MacBook Pro.

14-inch models:

16-inch models:

  • M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 512GB storage, 24GB memory: $2,216 at Amazon
  • M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 512GB storage, 48GB memory: $2,535 at Amazon
  • M4 Max MacBook Pro with 1TB Storage, 36GB Memory: $3,094 at Amazon ($405 off!)
  • M4 Max MacBook Pro with 1 TB of storage, 48 GB of memory: $3,517 at Amazon

MacBook Pro M5

Last month, Apple introduced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip. Against tradition, however, they released only the base M5. If you want more power or a 16-inch model, you’ll need to buy the M4 Pro or M4 Max chip.

The M5 is roughly 15% faster compared to the M4. Compared to the M4 Pro, the M5 is about 10% slower in CPU performance. It also rivals the M2 Pro and M3 Pro in GPU performance, so you could argue that the M5 serves as a great value compared to buying the M4 Pro.

Since the M5 is so new, there hasn’t been much of a price drop, although you can currently find $50-$150 off select models.
