Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks to ensure you get the most out of your Carplay experience …

 

Adapt your Carplay and Home Screen applications

Many of your favorite applications are probably available on CarPlay, but that doesn’t mean you want to All On your home screen Carplay. Fortunately, it is easy to adjust these options.

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap “General”
3. Tap “Carplay”
4. Click your car name and select “Customize”

Here you will see a complete list of all Carplay applications on your phone. You can simply click the red sign minus and hide the applications from discovering on CarPlay.

You can also regroup your Carplay home screen on this settings page. Simply drag the applications to the desired order using the three lines on the right side of the application icon.

Carplay wallpaper

Even if you can’t use any photo as your Carplay wallpaper, Apple has offered a selection of pre -installed options.

1. Open the Settings app on CarPlay itself
2. Select “Wallpaper”
3. Choose the desired wallpaper and click “Set”

Apple adds new wallpaper options from time to time, but only a limited number of options are still available.

Wireless or cable?

Carplay works both cable and wirelessly, depending on the brand and model of your car. Cable CarPlay generally provides faster and more reliable experience. When using wireless Carplay, you can experience the same latency when you do things like changing songs and access to Siri.

Here’s my strategy:

• I use wireless Carplay for fast city trips when I enter and out of the car when I run errands.
• I use the carplay cable for longer road trips, where I have been in the car for a long time.

Again, your number of mileage may vary depending on your car. However, there are ways to bring wireless Carplay to any car. My personal recommendation is the Carlinkit 5.0 adapter that converts your car, the Carplay implementation is connected to a wireless experience for less than $ 60.

Dark mode

Carplay is available in light mode and dark mode. In Settings via CarPlay, you can choose between three options:

1. Light
2. Dark
3. Automatically

I use automatic settings that switch between light and dark mode based on daily time and other external lighting factors.

Driving focus regime

One of Carplay’s most important advantages is that it increases car safety by discouraging you from picking up your phone. First there is a gear focus regime. This blocks incoming notifications, messages and calls, so your focus remains on the road.

You can customize the driving focus mode using the Settings app on your iPhone. You can decide to enable notifications from specific contacts and allow the automatic response feature that tells people who send you the text that you are driving. When automatically connected to Carplay, you can also decide to allow the focus of the ride.

Announce messages

Messages announce the popular feature for the iPhone that works with Siri while reading your messages. You can then decide on this message using the voice. This feature works with Apple’s application as well as third -party applications.

1. Scroll to Settings> Siri & Search> Notifications notifications on your phone
2. Turn on notifications and select Supported applications
3. In CarPlay, make sure they report messages with Siri in CarPlay Sadings

Shaplay

If you are like me, you prefer control over music when you go. But if you want other people in yours because you contributed to the tail, Carplay covered you.

You will see the sharing icon in the upper right corner on the Apple Music screen. Clicking this icon will be a challenge to create a QR code that others can scan. As soon as they scan this QR code, a pop -up window will appear and informs you that someone is interested in connecting to your Sharely session.

UNCE that one joins can contribute to the tail, see what is currently playing, and control the tail – even if they have Apple Music.

Carplay improves with iOS 26

iOS 26 will be released to everyone in September. The update will bring the main new features to CarPlay, including widgets, new toning options and more. We will update this manual when iOS 26 is available to everyone.
